It was the year 1085 when the Hofergut, located in the heart of the Pustertal Valley, was still known as Ansitz Hofer. During the era of Charlemagne, special administrative duties were assigned to so-called “Houve” estates. Ansitz Hofer was no exception, serving as the seat of the court for the Lords of Rischon and functioning as the regional court of St. Michelsburg. Since 1975, the now Hofergut has been a residence. Today, it is considered one of the oldest buildings in the region.
Nearly 1,000 years after their first historical mention, these unique buildings are now under heritage protection. Carefully and thoughtfully restored after extensive planning by architect Alexander Huber from Berg und Tal, they have been transformed into a charming guesthouse. The historic splendor of the estate, with its rooms and vaulted ceilings, has been brought back to life without sacrificing modern aesthetics.
