Alfa Hotel: Serfaus for the soul
If you want to spell the Alfa Hotel, you might find more suitable words than Andrew, Lucy and Frederick – words that capture the feeling of this special place: A for alpine, L for letting go, F for finesse and A for a time out. All of this reflects in the spa area of the four-star hotel in Serfaus, which recently added an outdoor relaxation pool to provide even more space for relaxation.
Alpine
Where are we located? In Tyrol! More precisely in Serfaus, a traffic-calmed community with its own underground railway, many hours of sunshine and almost as many inhabitants (1,110) as metres in altitude (1,427). If you include the temporary residents, the 7,000 beds would be closer to Mount Everest in terms of metres. Some of these beds are located in the Alfa Hotel in the centre of the village – surrounded by the mountains of the Serfaus – Fiss – Ladis ski area.
Letting go
We let go not only when we ski down the mountain, but also in the wellness area of the Alfa Hotel. A visit to the sauna is a marvellous contrast to the freezing cold air on the face. The only question here is which one? Depending on the temperature and humidity preference, you can choose from a heat cabin, steam bath, brine steam bath, Finnish sauna, bio sauna, infrared cabin or dress-on sauna. It is also nice and warm in the 34° outdoor relaxation pool with air bubbles and massage jets, which was added to the wellness area in December.
If you want to cool off, jump into the indoor pool and swim a few lengths. Or continue your holiday workout after skiing in the fitness area. Cardio machines and a weight station are available here and the fantastic view provides the necessary motivation.
Finesse
And what else does it take to touch the soul? Good food. The day starts with a breakfast buffet with local produce, in the afternoon there is strudel and cake, plus a fruit and tea bar in the wellness area and in the evening a 5-course menu with dishes that celebrate Austria as much as nearby Italy.
A time out
Whether active or relaxed – the Hotel Alfa ensures that a stay really is a time-out.
